Full Size Range Rovers® are very heavy on brake pads and discs which can need replacing every 30000 miles. Once upon a time you could take your car to any garage to service the brakes but the Range Rover L405 brake calipers are controlled by the ECU and require the latest specialist diagnostic equipment to be able to retract the pistons so that pads can be replaced.

The above prices are for vehicles with standard front brakes, for vehicles fitted with the performance Brembo brake calipers see prices below. The Brembo calipers are alloy and have steel pins that hold the brake pads in place, over time as the steel corrodes it expands in the alloy caliper and they become extremely difficult to remove, on occasion impossible without damaging the caliper. With a replacement Brembo calipers costing £710 each we strongly advise replacing the retaining pins everytime the brake pads are changed.

As with most vehicles in the Land Rover range the door latches are prone to failing, you may find that you cannot lock the vehicle or have activated the central locking but you are still able to open one of the doors. As all the parts of the mechanism are now in one sealed unit the complete latch will need replacing.
